Selank Research Spray Kit (10mg/7ml)

This item supplies Selank as a research spray kit. Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide, Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro, formed by extending the tetrapeptide tuftsin with a Pro-Gly-Pro tail that confers resistance to aminopeptidase cleavage.

It is studied for anxiolytic activity reported to occur without sedation. Proposed mechanisms include GABAergic modulation, effects on serotonin metabolism, and inhibition of enkephalin-degrading enzymes — the latter acting by prolonging endogenous opioid peptide signalling rather than by direct receptor agonism.

The intranasal route is standard throughout this literature. It is used to shorten the path to central tissue for a peptide that penetrates the blood-brain barrier poorly, and the proline-rich stabilising tail is what makes the route practical.

• Tuftsin lineage. A stabilised analog of the immunomodulatory tetrapeptide tuftsin.

• Anxiolysis without sedation. The reported dissociation of anxiolytic effect from sedation is the compound's defining claim.

• Enkephalin degradation. Proposed inhibition of enkephalin-degrading enzymes would prolong endogenous opioid signalling indirectly.

• Intranasal route. Standard in this literature; the stabilising C-terminal extension is what makes nasal delivery viable.
